In this 4-week course, your learners will read the entire "Princess Pink & the Land of Fake-Believe" series, & then they will write the next book in the series as fan fiction! This teaches reading comprehension and creative writing skills.

Description
Class Experience
As well as reading the entire "Princess Pink & the Land of Fake-Believe" series, we are going to write fan fiction based on "Princess Pink & the Land of Fake-Believe"! Each week I will release homework tasks by 12pm GMT/UTC each Monday, which will help your learners with their reading comprehension, along with creative writing instructions via a VIDEO with slides that will help your learners to write their fan fiction. They can submit as many drafts as they want to for feedback and...
Learners will deepen their understanding with regard to reading comprehension, and they will write fan fiction whilst learning how to structure a creative writing piece.
I am a native English speaker with a 150-hour TESOL qualification from Arizona State University and post-graduate qualifications in Applied Linguistics from Monash University. I am also a lawyer in Australia and I homeschool my own children, therefore speaking and teaching clearly have been a part of my life for many years, and now I am also applying these skills to teaching others. Other applicable courses that I have completed that pertain to this class include: - Reason and Persuasion: Thinking Through Three Dialogues By Plato; - Technology and Ethics; - ADHD: Everyday Strategies for Elementary Students; - The Clinical Psychology of Children and Young People; - Everyday Parenting: The ABCs of Child Rearing; - A Brief History of Humankind.
Learners will need to read the book for the week, and work on their creative writing piece.
Learners will need to have access to a copy of the book that we are reading for the class for the week.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learners will submit their fan fiction in the final week for feedback and guidance.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I will screen share Google Slides during this class. Learners do not need to access the internet outside of Outschool for this class.
