This class will cover how to work on scholarship qualifications and where to find scholarships. I will cover what age you can start doing activities that will help with applications, what activities are important to focus on, where to find scholarships, and tips on writing a great essay. I will also expound on the fact that perfect grades aren't always necessary to receive a scholarship. We will go through the scholarship process and I will provide each student with notes from the presentation. I will also supply each student with 3-5 scholarships that they can work toward. I will ask each student to tell me a little about themselves (if they prefer sports, math, science, art or English classes) so I can point them toward scholarships that would more closely fit their strengths and interests. I cannot promise the perfect the scholarship for everyone, but I can give them a start. The most important trait in looking for and applying for scholarships is grit. I will reiterate that repeatedly in the class. Students can feel free to message me after class with any follow-up questions they may have. My classes are very interactive. I will do some lecture of the material, but I also ask the students many questions and share stories to reinforce different aspects of the course. I like the students to see themselves in other young people that have succeeded in qualifying for and winning scholarships. Most scholarships are for students attending US universities. Many scholarships require that recipients are US citizens.
