By the end of our class each student should understand-- 
-that winning scholarships takes time and dedication
-where to go to find scholarships
-what they need to be doing now to qualify for and apply for great scholarships
-the most important points in writing a great essay
-that finding their passion may be one of their best tools

I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2000 with a BA in English and Spanish for teaching Secondary Education.  I went on to teach high school Spanish and Spanish to native Spanish speakers in the public schools. I also substitute taught at several different schools and school systems in my area for a variety of different subjects.  Since leaving public schools I have taught Spanish, English, and History to mainly middle and high school grades in private settings. I currently teach a high school religion course that meets 5 days a week.  As I work with my students I seek out ways to help them excel and reach their full potential. I have written many recommendations for my students and helped them find service opportunities and scholarships that fit their future educational goals.
