What's included
4 live meetings
3 in-class hoursClass Experience
During the class, we will read "sides" (a specifically selected scenes used in the audition process) from a TV series or film or a play, and begin breaking down the scene and analyzing the script according to the teachings of Ivanna Chubbuck, Uta Hagen, Amy Lyndon, and Larry Moss. We will work together to identify the given circumstances, and discuss how to make compelling choices that work for the actor and the character. We will delve into the different ways an actor can mine their own emotions in order to bring the character to life and tell captivating stories. Students will be assigned a scene to break down on their own and perform during the last class. Students are welcome to observe if they do not feel comfortable performing. They will be given feedback based on the teachings from the previous 3 class. Students will be engaged and asked to justify and explain their choices. For more abstract ideas, excerpts from the texts referenced will be provided to the students. As this is a class is interactive and focused towards beginners, there is no required experience or knowledge. However, as each class builds on the previous lesson, it is recommended that students attend all classes, or watch the recording before the next lesson. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Science from University of Manitoba
I have been a working actress for the last 7 years, booking my very first audition in the Lionsgate film "I Still See You". My most recent roles include the Apple TV series "Firebug" premiering in 2025, as well as a straight offer for a vocalist role on the Hallmark series "The Chicken Sisters". I was also sent for network approval for the new CBS series "Watson". I recently wrapped a lead of a Lifetime feature, a national commercial, and a series regular role on a new series. I was most recently pinned for a second national commercial and a new Darren Aronofsky TV series. If you're getting into the holiday spirit, check out "The Holiday Shift" on Roku, which we filmed in 2022 in my hometown!
