US Grade 3 - 5
The perfect way to combine energy and creativity, this class will challenge learners to look at story writing in a new way. Learners will briefly go over the elements of telling a short story and will then be sent off to find an item. They will incorporate their item in the opening of their story- before being sent off again to find other items at regular intervals to make part of their writing. Learners will look at creative ways to use their items and will be challenged to think quickly and discover the value of getting their ideas down without overthinking them.
Learning Goals
Students will understand the basic structure of a short story and that getting an idea down without having to worry about making it perfect immediately is a helpful method of working. Students will begin to think quickly and creatively.
