30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Come meet new friends in this fun class! This class is a combination of a scavenger hunt and show and tell. After brief introductions, I will review basic rules to keep the game fun and safe. 1. Safely search for your item (no running)! 2. Ask a grown-up if you need help reaching something. 3. Bring the item back and be ready to show everyone. 4. At the end of class, put the items back where you found them. Then we will begin the game! I will give the students a description of one thing they need to find in their house. For example: - Find something that is round! - Find one of your favorite foods! - Find a favorite stuffed animal! - Find a favorite book! - Find something that you made! Students will go find something in their house that fits that description as quickly and as safely as they can, and bring it back to show and talk about with everyone. Once everyone returns, each student will have a turn to show and talk about what they found. The number of items they will search for in each class will depend on the number of students. Although this is a one-time class, your child can sign up for more sections since we will be searching for different things each time. It would be helpful for your child to be set up for class in a central location of your house so they can access things easily. Please make sure your child knows what rooms they have permission to search.
Learning Goals
Students will practice listening, speaking, and comprehension skills while having fun searching for things in their home and sharing with the class.
