Students will develop skills of recognition, animal identification, scanning environment, reading/pre-reading skills, decipher clues, problem-solving skills, out of the box thinking, goal setting, cleaning up, cheering on peers, and following directions in a fun and exciting way. We will discuss safety while searching and items not to include in search. Students will follow theme related slides and verbal instructions to find items. Slides will include pictures and word(s) for the items to assist with reading skills. Some bonus hunts will include hints which help develop problem solving and out of the box thinking. Sign up for great exercise for the body and mind!

Other Details
Parental Guidance
We will cover how to hunt safely, please also discuss with your child about moving safely through the house.
We also will discuss items they can not collect that could be unsafe, for example scissors, knives etc. Please discuss what rooms are safe for them to hunt in.
Supply List
No supplied needed, we will hunt for supplies during the class. Please do not find items ahead of time, takes away from the fun.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught reading for 5 years and served as the Director of Admissions and College Counseling. Additionally, I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center.
