Class Experience
This is an ongoing class for learners who are planning to complete the Saxon Math 6/5 curriculum over the course of the upcoming schoolyear. What does this class offer? Saxon Math has an emphasis on massed practice -- which means continuously reviewing previous concepts through practice problems. To that end, we will be working together to accomplish this kind of continuous review in a social context. We will play games, practice problems together, and work on the investigations from the...
The goals of this class are to: Give kids using Saxon Math an opportunity to connect with others using this curriculum. Provide extra practice and review, as well as the opportunity to ask questions about specific problem types and see more examples. Mix things up by playing games that are aligned with the Saxon curriculum. Help homeschoolers stay on-track to complete the Saxon 6/5 curriculum during the September-June schoolyear.
There is no set homework. On occasion I might upload a document for learners to review in advance before coming to class.
Learners must have the 4th edition of the Saxon 7/6 Homeschool Curriculum. You can purchase these element as a kit, or as three separate books.
