Description

Class Experience

Most tutoring times are scheduled upon request.  If you do not see a convenient time listed, please send me your learner's availability so we may arrange a convenient time.

Prerequisites:Students should either be currently working through Saxon Math 6/5, Saxon Math 7/6, or Saxon Math 8/7 or be preparing to work through one of these text books.  I offer group classes for Saxon Math 6/5, Saxon Math 7/6, and Saxon Math 8/7 for students who would also like a group class.  

Tutoring can provide...

The student will be tutored in content from Saxon Math 6/5, Saxon Math 7/6, or Saxon Math 8/7 which are equivalent to grades 5, 6, and 7.  Saxon Math 8/7 has pre-algebra content. The teacher may draw upon additional outside resources or techniques from her experience and research to assist the student depending on the needs of the learner. Each tutoring session is individualized based on parent request and student understanding.

I love teaching math! In addition to holding a professional teaching license with a special endorsement in middle school mathematics, I have homeschooled 6 children using the Saxon math curriculum in the early and middle grades.  It is very thorough and builds a strong foundation for the study of more advanced mathematics in the upper grades. My goal is to encourage every student to work to his/her potential.

No homework is assigned unless requested by the parent/guardian.

The student will need a copy of the student text appropriate for his/her level.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Learner understanding is constantly assessed by the teacher through questioning, observation, and checking of work completed during class.
