As a person who struggled with math as a student, I can empathize with and relate to students as they try to learn new and difficult concepts. I display patience with the learners, give them time to respond, and offer encouragement for their efforts. In this ongoing class, students will meet twice a week to learn and practice the topics in Lesson 1-60 of Saxon Algebra 1. Some topics include fractions, decimals, metric system, exponents, geometry, order of operations and scientific notation....
I have been teaching math (as a classroom teacher and tutor) for 25+ years. As a person who struggled with math as a student, I can empathize with and relate to students as they try to learn new and difficult concepts. A lot of encouragement goes a long way.
Learners should try to complete some of the practice and review exercises for each lesson. Parents are to monitor their child’s homework assignments and check the answers. (The answers to the odd exercises are in the back of the textbook.)
