Homework Offered
Homework from the textbook will be assigned
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
A booklet of tests can be purchased as a companion to this class and text (see supplies section), as well as a solutions booklet. There are recommended tests for each week. These should be done at home and graded by the parent or the teacher can grade tests if necessary. The tests are used to gauge the students understanding of the material. Parent communication with the teacher is crucial so that we can ensure the student is on track. If a parent finds that the student needs focused instruction or practice, the student can be signed up for 1:1 tutoring.
Grades Offered
Students should have completed 8th grade math, or Saxon 7/8, Saxon Algebra 1/2
Students should purchase the Saxon Algebra 1, 3rd Edition Textbook (orange with blue cover). This can be purchased for around $100 on Amazon or can be less if found used. The tests and answer keys can be purchased as well.
