Savvy Singer Power Hour: Beginning Singer's Masterclass
What's included
1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This is the essential course to begin performing as a singer. Students will learn together and perform individually in an encouraging environment, safe for new and not-so-new singers. We will discuss an overview of essential vocal and performance techniques (breath, posture, diction, and stage fright management), then move into a one-by-one song share of the student’s choice utilizing the techniques taught in class. An instructor created rubric will be used to provide positive feedback to all singers. Singers should be prepared to sing for 1.5-3 minutes solo, a clean, age appropriate song of their choice. This course is great for beginning singers, or not-far-from beginning singers. This course blends small group and individual learning through lecture, individual performance, and group activity.
Learning Goals
Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
-Breathe efficiently for phrase continuation and completion
-Sing using posture that unlocks their unique voice and is conducive to their individual anatomy
-Enunciate each word with precision for an audience
-Explore techniques to quiet performance anxiety and effectively manage their stage fright

Students should have a second device (phone, tablet, laptop) with internet access to play a backing track (instrumental or karaoke version) of a song of their choice from YouTube. This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but not required.
