Sam is a lovable but mischievous worm who enjoys going on adventures but yet always ends up needing to be rescued. Students will use common household crafting supplies such as paper, string, paper towel tubes, tape, straws, paper plates, cardboard, etc. to build something that will go along with our Sam story and help save both Sam the worm and the holidays from disaster. I will tell the students a story about Sam and then give a S.T.E.M. building prompt that will offer some rules or parameters. An example would be: Sam has gotten stuck in someone's Christmas tree. Build a vehicle with a moving part that can safely rescue Sam from the tree. My teaching style can be described as friendly, calm, creative, and structured.
Learning Goals
-Have some holiday fun.
-Practice creative thinking in a S.T.E.M. build.
