Class Experience

Responsible money management skills need to be taught so students can develop a healthy relationship with money. The money management course is a curriculum that was created to educate teens on financial literacy and wealth-building strategies. The course consists of four modules: 1-spending, 2-saving, 3-budgeting, and 4-earning.  

Module 2 - Pay Yourself FIRST, not last 
Pay Yourself First is an important financial concept that students should learn in order to develop a healthy relationship with money. Developing the smart habit of saving can provide financial security, help avoid bad debt, and lead to wealth building. 

In this course, students will learn:
- how to develop healthy financial habits
- the importance of saving money
- how to pay themselves first 
- what an emergency fund is and how having one can help avoid bad debt
- the difference between saving and investing 
- the benefits of compound interest
