In this 2-day camp, learners will master 8 sets of commonly confused words through a fun, interactive, Halloween-themed escape room! We will meet 2 times in 1 week to accomplish our learning goals and develop a thorough understanding of the commonly confused words. The escape room will only happen on DAY 2! Currently, I am a high school English teacher. I see firsthand how important it is to learn commonly confused words. I love teaching commonly confused words because it is a skill learners will need to know for the rest of their lives! I enjoy teaching fun, interactive classes to help learners enjoy the process of learning necessary skills.
Although not required, learners are encouraged to take notes. A handout will be provided for learners to take notes. They can print this resource out, or they can use their preferred way of taking notes during the camp.
During the escape room, I will share my screen and I will be clicking around a word document that has hyperlinks to other documents on my computer. The learners will instruct me where to click and how to answer questions. Since they will not have access to the document themselves (to create a more whole group atmosphere), learners will not need to create an account to complete the escape room.
