Description

Class Experience

The learner will investigate and understand the relationships among Earth, moon, and the sun. Key concepts include
a)	the causes for the phases of the moon.

Related Learning: The learner will demonstrate an understanding of scientific reasoning, logic, and the nature of science by planning and conducting investigations in which
a)	objects or events are classified and arranged according to characteristics or properties;
b)	data are communicated with simple graphs, pictures, written statements, and numbers;
c)	models are constructed to clarify explanations, demonstrate relationships, and solve needs.

The learner will investigate and understand the relationships among Earth, moon, and the sun. Key concepts include
a)	the motions of Earth, the moon, and the sun.
The teacher will provide all handouts necessary for student participation. The following supplies are optional if the child wishes to participate alongside the teacher. Moon Phases Materials: Paper plate; Markers; 10 Mini-chocolate sandwich cookies with vanilla cream; and Toothpicks (optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
