SAT Vocabulary and Prep

This ongoing course is for students preparing to take or retake the SAT test. The main focus will be on building vocabulary through the introduction and repetition of frequent SAT Vocabulary. Learners will also learn test-taking strategies.

It is recommended that those studying for the SAT check out an SAT study guide from their local or school library or purchase one they can write in. THIS CLASS DOES NOT REQUIRE A BOOK. The only materials required are materials to take notes in the learner's preferred method. 

Learners will receive a new list of words at each session. These words will be used and the students quizzed throughout the class. Different strategies will be discussed. Strategies and words covered will vary and repeat between lessons, both so new learners can be introduced and previous learners can have them reinforced.

No homework will be assigned, but learners should study on their own as this course does NOT guarantee SAT success. Learners will not be assessed.

Autumn took the SAT multiple times both before and after the overhaul in 2005. Achieving scores 310 away from perfect (1600 total points and 2400 total points) in both formats. in 2016 the SAT changed back to the old style with an emphasis on vocabulary. Autumn is a big vocab nerd.
