1 hrs 50 mins in-class hoursHomework
1-2 hours per week. Students have the option to work through problem questions on their own outside of class and then receive feedback.Assessment
I am happy to provide an informal assessment to help the student work out what types of SAT questions they need to spend further time on. Often times, students who score well on the SAT (but want to score even better) need to hone in on specific types of questions or work on building certain test strategies to optimize their performance.Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 11
In this class, we will explore challenging question types on the SAT Verbal. During the first session, we will discuss the reading section questions types and how to tackle them. Specifically, we will focus on the questions that ask learners to consider the whole of the text or make inferences based on their readings of larger sections. We will also look at the pair questions that ask students to identify specific quotes that support their answer to a previous question. The second session will discuss question types on the writing section, reviewing the grammar components that students should know for the SAT, while also exploring how to handle questions about adding or removing sentences or organization of sentences within sample paragraphs.
