4+ hours per week. Since this is a flex class all the work will be done at home and there will be no live meetings. Students will have videos to watch throughout the week these videos will take about two hours weekly to watch. Students will be required to do three practice tests outside of class during the course of the 16 weeks. During the weeks that they have these tests, their homework load will be higher as it takes 3 hours to complete a test. On other weeks the work will be minor and students will at most have some drills that should take 30 minutes to an hour on top of the time needed to watch the videos.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
🚨**NOTE: this is a self paced schedule class, so there are NO scheduled live meetings. There will be pre-recorded videos and weekly activities.

This is a 16-week-long self-paced class that will have your students mastering every single part of the SAT Test. The SAT has changed over the years and the most important way that students can do well on the test is to become very familiar with every aspect of the test. All classes will be done at students' own pace and they will have videos, exercises, and practice tests to do throughout the class for the reading, writing, and math sections of the test.

For the reading section of the test, this class will go over all the different ways that the test tries to trick students when it comes to the reading portion of the test. They will learn how to eliminate the wrong answers so they will be able to get the right answer. They also will learn the different genres that they will come across on the Reading test. They will learn how to read charts. How to answer double process of elimination questions and more. They will also learn how to pace themselves so they do not run out of time.

For the writing and language portion of the test, students will go through what I like to call a grammar Bootcamp. They will learn 15 of the most important grammar lessons that they will be tested on in the language sections of the test. Including subject-verb agreement, pronoun-antecedent agreement, misplaced modifiers, parallelism, Irregular verbs, trimming sentences, Idioms, verb tenses, diction errors, subjunctive mood, and more.

For the math portion of the test, students will master all the different math problems that they will come across on the SAT, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry concepts. They will also learn math shortcuts that will save them time and get them to the right answer faster so that they do not run out of time on the test.

Students will learn these concepts through drills and lessons in class they will also be expected to take three practice tests outside of class over the course of the class to see how their score has improved and to get them to experience the type of test questions that they will come across. Below is a breakdown of the 16 weeks of the course and what will be covered.

A B O U T M E A N D M Y S T Y L E

I have been teaching SAT for about ten years and know that the earlier students start the more likely they are to find success. I have also seen with this test that practice really makes all the difference in students' score. That is why I create classes like this.

I also have lots of experience with students with a number of different abilities and neurodiverse students. I have experience with blind students, autistic students, students with ADHD, etc. If your student needs any accommodations to make this class more accessible for them please feel free to reach out and I will make these accommodations to the best of my ability.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of the concepts on the SAT to become more familiar with the test, raise their scores, and get into the college of their dreams
