SAT Prep: Vocabulary and Grammar
This weekly class will teach 5 new vocabulary words in context per week that are commonly found on the SAT. There will be one grammar lesson per week to prepare for the SAT Reading and Writing section. Learn from a Harvard Ph.D.

I can supply a test at the end of the course that reviews the material taught in the course. If students choose to complete the test, they can send it to me via the Outschool platform. I will grade the test and provide them with the results.Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 11
In this class, I will help learners prepare for the Reading and Writing section of the SAT. We will only focus on 5 new vocabulary words per week for greater retention. I will also teach common root words, prefixes, and suffixes. This will help learners be able to figure out unfamiliar vocabulary words that they might encounter on the SAT. Each class will also include a grammar lesson from one of the 8 most commonly tested grammatical concepts from the SAT. The grammar topics include: Subject-verb agreement Pronoun-antecedent agreement Plurals and possessives Verb forms Subject-modifier placement Linking clauses Supplements Punctuation Classes will be structured as follows: Introduction: 5 mins Vocabulary Lesson: 15 mins Vocabulary Practice: 15 mins Grammar Lesson: 15 mins Grammar Practice: 10 mins We will use games such as Kahoot to practice vocabulary and grammar.
Learning Goals
Students will learn common root words, prefixes, and suffixes in the English language.Students will learn the basics of standard English conventions that are tested on the SAT.

Vocabulary & Pronoun--Antecedent Agreement
In this lesson, students will learn 5 new SAT Vocabulary words and will learn about Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement. They will cover Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement for indefinite pronouns and well as collective nouns. 60 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Vocabulary & Plurals and Possessives
In this lesson, students will learn 5 new vocabulary words and how to create plural nouns as well as possessive nouns. They will also cover how to create possessive pronouns. 60 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Vocabulary & Verbs Forms
In this lesson, students will learn 5 new vocabulary words and the types of verb form questions that appear on the SAT. They will also learn ways to identify the correct verb form in complex sentences. 60 mins online live lesson
