Description
Class Experience
Increasing test scores significantly takes a lot of practice and effort. My goal for this class is to give students some additional tools to use on the SAT so that they feel more confident going into the test and have some tips to help them improve their score.
I have successfully taught Pre-Algebra through Algebra 2 for over 30 years in public schools, on online platforms, and at homeschool co-ops. I have been studying the SAT math sections since my home state of Michigan announced they planned to use the SAT as a high school assessment in 2015. Since 2016, I have taught students how to approach the SAT math sections.
Students will be asked take the math sections of an official College Board SAT between class meetings.
A printer and a SAT-approved graphing calculator
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat Students will NOT need a College Board account. They will only go to this website to access an official College Board SAT practice test. I will provide a direct link to the test I would like them to take for practice.
