Students have been building skills for their entire school career, but this close to the test, skill levels won't change much. It's time to focus on strategy. For many students, a gain of 2 correct answers can raise their score 30 points or more within a single section. That's what we will focus on: where to find those points that are being lost not because we don't know where the comma goes, but because we don't know how the test is created and what it really measures. Knowledge of the test and the test day also helps alleviate testing anxiety, which is a common problem for teens. Let's find those missing points.

How long should I focus on a single question in each section?
Should I shoot for time or accuracy?
What are the best practice materials for strategy?
What tricks and traps are designed within the test?
What are the most common WRONG answers?
How can I most quickly determine what I'm looking for?
When should I guess?

We will cover these questions and work to build confidence in order to maximize the points you earn from what you already know.

Learning Goals

Students will learn specific methods for handling each section of the SAT test, as well as overall standardized test-taking strategies. The result will be a solid game plan on test day that leads to confidence and higher scores.
