This class will help students to prepare for the SAT Essay. It's broken down into four parts; understanding the instructions/prompt, analyzing the argument, outlining and reading with time efficiency, and improving writing skills. The student will focus on developing a strong thesis as they identify what arguments the author uses to persuade the reader of his/her perspective. They will improve their overall writing abilities while preparing for this timed essay. Each week the student will receive a prompt and for homework, they will time themselves taking the SAT essay which will then be scored.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi everybody!
I am an experienced teacher and I love incorporating music into all my lessons. Most of my experience was teaching SAT and TOEFL at Kaplan International in Paris, France. I most recently taught a singing, piano, and songwriting class to middle school students at Grand St. Settlement in New York City. I believe learning should be fun and that all lessons should incorporate culture and creativity! I am a singer/songwriter myself and I perform my original music all over New York!
