It's story time with a twist! Join me as I tell a different fairy tale, folktale, or fable each week via a unique and highly interactive multimedia format. My collection of stories comes from around the world, so each week, your child will be transported anywhere from Greece to Ghana. We'll also learn a bit about who or where the story came from -- just a little history and geography slipped in with the fun! The twist is my story time companion, Sam. Sam is a shy but curious cat who magically morphs between puppet and digital forms. Be forewarned -- Sam has a habit of showing up in the stories! The stories will be told on the following schedule: Week of September 26: The Condor and the Hummingbird (Peru) Week of October 3: The Fastest Woman in the World (Greece) Week of October 10: The Village of Tipingees (Haiti) Week of October 17: Thor and Loki Meet a Giant (Scandinavia) Week of October 24: Rainbow Crow (Lenapi, United States) Week of October 31: The Magic Porridge Pot (Germany) Week of November 7: How Zebras Got Stripes (Kenya) Week of November 14: The Bunyip (Aboriginal, Australia) Week of November 21: The Giant Finn McCool (Ireland) Week of November 28: The Fairy of Diamonds and Toads (France) Week of December 5:The Ant and the Grasshopper (Greece) Week of December 12: The Bremen Town Musicians (Germany) Week of December 19: The First Cinderella (China) Week of December 26: The Little Lamb (India) Week of January 2: The Country Mouse and the City Mouse (Greece) Week of January 9: The Man, the Boy, and the Donkey (Spain) Week of January 16: The Hundred-Knot Bamboo Tree (Vietnam) Week of January 23: Paul Bunyan and the Blue Ox (United States) Week of January 30: The Nightingale (Denmark) Week of February 6: The Lion and the Mouse (Greece) Week of February 13: Clever Sima Guang (China) Week of February 20: Clever Hans (Germany) Week of February 27: Hina and Rupe, the Magical Siblings (Maori, New Zealand) Week of March 6: Anansi the Storyteller (Ghana) Week of March 13: Kekupua's Canoe (Hawaiian, United States) Week of March 20: The Boy Who Cried Wolf (Greece) Week of March 27: The Fox and the Raven (France) Week of April 3: The Flight of the Wren (Ireland) Week of April 10: The Wedding of the Cat and the Mouse (Oromo, Ethiopia) Week of April 17: Mighty Mikko and the Fox (Finland) Week of April 24: Papa Bois (Trinidad and Tobago) Week of May 1: The Crow and the Pitcher (Greece) Week of May 8: The Giant Abiyoyo (South Africa) Week of May 15: The Lost Camel (India) Week of May 22: The Laidly Worm (England) Week of May 29: The Three Billy Goats Gruff (Norway) Week of June 5: Why Cats Fear Water and Dogs Wag Their Tails (Philippines) Week of June 12: Glooscap's Paintbrush (Mi'kmaq, Canada) Week of June 19: The Legend of the Pussy Willows (Poland) Week of June 26: Momotaro and His Friends (Japan)
