The Carnival of the Animals: Listen & Make Crafts.

Beginner Level
In the first part of the class, we will discuss what a carnival is. I will introduce a composer Camille Saint-Saëns and tell a few facts about him. Then, I will tell a story accompanied by The Carnival of the Animals' music. We will briefly discuss several animals presented in Saint-Saëns's The Carnival of the Animals suite. We'll talk about some of their characteristics and behaviors. We'll pretend to move like these animals do with the music. Also, as students listen to some movements from...
- We will practice listening to short segments of classical music and expecting "clues" from the music. Students will also exercise their fine motor skills during the craft time.
Supply List: 1. 2 Kleenex tissues 2. Construction paper 3. 1 Brown lunch bag (optional) 4. 2 Small buttons (optional) 5. Glue stick 6. Small scissors 7. Markers 8. Scotch tape
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
For the craft portion of the class, parental help is required for younger students (ages 4-5) and recommended for older students (ages 6-7) due to the use of scissors.
