Love Sailor Moon and would love an art course focused on your favorite characters? Want to focus on understanding how to draw portraits at different angles? Want to master those iconic Sailor Moon eyes and hair? This class is designed for you! In this ten-week art course, students focus on portraits of characters from Sailor Moon. Students will utilize different techniques and approaches to execute a portrait of each character. Students will learn how to measure, how to use their pencil as a measuring tool, utilize guidelines, and how to use simple shapes to create a portrait. Students should expect to draw the profile facing forward, 3/4th profile and side profile. Students will be able to walk away understanding how to draw a portrait at different angles. Eighty-five percent of the class will focus on sketching and drawing. The remaining fifteen percent will be offering tips of how to execute coloring. This will remain loose as different students may utilize different coloring materials. This class is designed for the Sailor Moon fan who wants to take their drawings to the next level. Art experience is not necessary but helpful. Please note that this class is geared towards intermediate artists. Please note that we are using references from the anime in the 90s. This is not based on Sailor Moon Crystal (most recent remake). The ten week itinerary includes: 💥 Week 1: Sailor Moon: Usagi Tsukino: Front Profile 💥 Week 2: Sailor Mercury: Ami Mizuno: Slight Left Angle 💥 Week 3: Sailor Mars: Rei Hino: Winking Front Profile 💥 Week 4: Sailor Jupiter: Makoto Kino: Right Angle 💥 Week 5: Sailor Venus: Minako Aino: Side Profile w/ Tilt Up 💥 Week 6: Sailor Pluto: Setsuna Meioh: Left Angle w/ Slight Tilt Down 💥 Week 7: Sailor Neptune: Michiru Kaioh: Right Angle w/ Slight Tilt Down 💥 Week 8: Sailor Uranus: Haruka Tenoh: Left Angle w/ Slight Angle Up 💥 Week 9: Sailor Saturn: Hotaru Tomoe: Front Profile 💥 Week 10: Sailor Chibi Moon: Chibiusa: Front Profile This class will be presented via Keynote and is an art based class. This is a FLEX class and is PRE-RECORDED. This means students will watch the pre-recorded video. Students will engage in questions, class discussions, and art assignments. Homework is optional. Students will be encouraged to share their artwork and engage with their fellow classmates in questions and discussions. Why Flex? 🔰 Flex classes are fantastic for international students (Mrs. V is located in Texas). 🔰 Students can work at their own pace. No need to wait on others or feel rushed. 🔰 Flex classes are an excellent choice for families with busy schedules. 🔰 This class is a "flex" class, meaning there is no live component, and all interactions between students and the teacher happens on the class page. The live version links are at the beginning of this class description. FLEX FORMAT: 🔹 Video Content: Weekly videos with a step-by-step breakdown of the art assignments are posted. Some videos will have a 20 to 35 minute duration. The work time for the student will be roughly an hour long. Students will review the video. 🔹 Discussion Prompt/Question/Check-in: Students respond to a weekly discussion prompt and/or question(s) posted by the teacher. 🔹 Complete Artwork: Students spend time completing their sketches. 🔹 Submit Artwork: Students are required to post photos of their completed sketches in the classroom on the designated post. If the student would prefer to keep this private, they can post privately to the teacher as well. Keep in mind, sharing artwork is essential in a flex class. 🔹 Feedback: The teacher and students post positive feedback on each other’s work. Mrs. V offers private and public feedback at the request of the students. Individualized feedback will not be given unless directly requested. Maturity, kindness, and thoughtful comments are encouraged and cultivated in the classroom. #creative
