At the end of the course, students will be able to draw and label their sailboat picture with basic parts.Class Experience
Ahoy! We will discuss background knowledge about student’s experience with sailing or boating. Students will learn the basic parts of a sailboat by viewing photos and videos from my personal sailing experience. We will explore how a sailboat moves and discuss the basic science behind the fun! To summarize what we’ve learned, we will complete a step-by-step sailboat drawing and label the parts with terms learned in class. Providing labels on a picture is a nonfiction text feature that helps us organize what we’ve learned and see new information easily.
