Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to identify a stranger and keep themselves safe.
I have taught about the danger of strangers in homeschooling, in public school to students preschool through middle school and in online classes combined for 29 years.
Students will be asked to talk to their parents about strangers and who they can trust. They will be asked to create a safety word with their parent and a help word. They will be asked to learn their local emergency phone number as well as their home number and address. We will NOT tell our home numbers, address, safety or help words in class, they can however tell me if the task was completed and if they can recite their police and firefighter numbers .
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be discussing bad strangers and that they sometimes will try to hurt or take children. We will do this in a safe space addressing questions students may have. I will also empower them with knowledge how to keep themselves safe in these situations. I will also talk about how it is very unlikely to happen to them. I am happy to answer any other questions you have.
We will using my cumulative knowledge I have gained teaching this topic over the years through several outlets and my knowledge I gained by taking self defense classes. We will use the coined phrase “Stranger Danger” and tactics tied to this format throughout the course.

About Me
Teaching isn't something I do, a Teacher is who I am. It is who I have been for as long as I can remember. I believe every child first wants to be 'seen', know that you care about them... then they will be ready to learn from you. I also believe...
