Come join our safari as we practice phonemic awareness and phonics skills. We will sound out 4-letter words while learning fun facts about animals!

Welcome to the Safari! Join us as we explore new animals and practice reading 4-letter short vowel words with blends, such as "fast", "tent" and "help". First we will practice blending individual sounds into words with a few fun animal facts thrown in. Then we will use those phonemic awareness skills to sound out real words and play a matching game. The class will use google slides and includes a printable follow-up sheet for extra practice. Students will be most successful in this class if they already know all of the letter names, letter sounds and be able to read simple 3-letter words.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to blend sounds together and sound-out four letter words.

I am certified in both early childhood and elementary education and have experience teaching a variety of ages.
