After a brief introduction, we will talk about the meaning of stripes and stars on the American flag. We will use mixed media paper or canvas to create a USA flag with red, white and blue colors. We will add brown and black stains accents to make the flag look worn and rustic. At the end of the class, little artists will have an opportunity to show their flags to other learners. Colors we will definitely need: black, white, blue, brown, red. Brushes we will definitely need: large, medium, small (detail brush) **Depending on the number of students and their skill level, this class might end a few minutes early or run 5-20 minutes extra.**

Supply List
Acrylic Paints we will need: black, white, brown, red, blue. A piece of paper (note paper or printer paper is fine). We will crumble the paper for the coloring technique. Mixed Media Paper or Canvas of any size. (Keep in mind the abilities of your learner. Younger children might have a difficult time covering a large surface.) -Cup with water and Paper towel or a piece of cloth for cleaning brushes -A palette - any dish we could use for mixing colors -Various brushes: Large flat brush (for the background), medium brush and small detail brush
