In this class, we will begin by learning some basic words in the following categories: colors, animals, and food. We will practice and solidify these words through mnemonic devices and learning activities. We will then learn the phrases “yes, I like…” and “no, I don’t like…” as well as the question “do you like…?” Students will use these phrases and the basic vocabulary to ask and answer questions about what they like. The following is a list of vocabulary words for this class: Colors: yellow, orange, green, blue, pink Animals: dog, cat, bird, pig, horse Food: pizza, banana, apple, milk, borscht

Hello! I am so glad you and your child have found my little corner of Outschool! I teach core subjects for elementary-aged students such as reading, writing, and grammar. Lately, I have been focusing on teaching pre-reading and writing skills. I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a Russian Language emphasis. Before I made the decision to stay home with my children, I taught 4th grade and loved it! Through my education and training, I have also spent time teaching students in a variety of classrooms grades 1-5. I have taught on online platforms for about 5 years. I believe in making learning fun for students and connecting with them on a personal level to promote engagement and a relaxed learning environment.
