In this two-week class, students will understand the history of Russia. It will include the history of Ukraine as well. This will help students understand the Russian invasion of 2022.

Description

Class Experience

Learning Goals:
• Students will understand the history of Russia 
• Students will also be exposed to differing viewpoints
• Students will be able to understand the conflict between Russia and Ukraine
The teacher has a bachelor's degree in history, a master's degree in international studies, and a teaching certificate in social sciences. He has lived in China for 14 years and is fluent in Mandarin, Chinese. He has also travelled to and studied history from different points of view. His wife is from China, so it is very good as seeing topics from different perspectives. 

Furthermore, the teacher is an expert in teaching culture and history from varying perspectives. He has taught AP US History which requires students to analyze primary sources from different perspectives. He has also taught World History

Lastly, expert sources will be used in this class. These expert sources will include Khan Academy, National Geographic, and sources from different countries. 
4 hours 35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
To prepare for this class, the teacher will use a wide variety of expert sources the present multiple viewpoints. These expert sources will include Khan Academy, National Geographic, and sources from Russia, Ukraine, and other countries. 

The sources will include primary sources from the Russian Chronicle which is where a lot of Russian history originated from. It will include primary resources about Rasputin and try to understand him from different perspectives. It will also read some primary sources about Joseph Stalin's daughter to get a unique perspective on the life of Stalin. Lastly, articles from History.com will be used for some of the background information.
