Albert Einstein once said: “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.” In this Summer Camp we will meet 4 times during the course of one weeks. I will be reading Classical Russian Fairytales and showing beautiful illustrations made with Traditional method of painting “Kholuya”. I will be reading in Russian language and translating into English, while showing the illustrations. I will be also playing it out in my paper theater. I will be explaining what is going on and will be asking questions that will help the child to grasp the idea of the story overall and guess the meaning of particular words on their own. This method is perfect for developing cognitive skills. The child will learn new vocabulary, will learn Russian Culture and will develop a skill of understanding longer sentences even if they don’t understand singled out words. I will have a different Camp for “Traditional Folk Russian Fairytales” for a different age group. But this is truly only a language level. If your child is younger or older they are welcome to join as well.
Learning Goals
The goals are learning new vocabulary, developing a skill to grasp the idea overall and learning about Russian Culture.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, My name is Vlada and I teach Russian language from US.
I was born and Russia and spend half of my life in there. I have gotten classical education in one of the oldest European Universities in Russia.
I have lived in US for 15 years and I love teaching Russian to my students.
I come from a family of teachers and early childhood educators.I would love to share my methods of teaching the Russian language to kids through play, fun and association.
Studies by Harvard University confirm that the creativity, critical thinking skills, and flexibility of the mind are significantly enhanced if children learn a second and a third language at a younger age. From zero to seven are believed to be a vital period in a child’s life. This is when the foundations for attitudes, thinking, and learning, among others, are laid down.
Happy Learning!
