Russian Alphabet With a Native Speaker! Learn Through Interactive Games.

Learn the alphabet in an engaging class with a native Russian speaker! In this 6 week course, students will learn how to write their letters, understand them, and write simple words in an upbeat learning environment. We will thoroughly go over the Russian alphabet to make sure students not only memorize the letters but also understand how each letter sounds in an actual conversation. This course is perfect for students that have zero/very little knowledge in Russian. Students will be supported through interactive slides, games, and worksheets. In class, students are all engaged and asked to participate in the activities. Everyone gets a chance to speak and practice in the classroom.

Why learn the Russian alphabet? Learning the alphabet is the most important step when someone is just starting to learn the language. Children will clearly understand what sound each letter makes. There will be lots of opportunities for practice! Additionally, I will teach the students how to write each letter both in print and in cursive. Students will write the letters with me and then I will check everyones' work to make sure that everyone is on the same page. Depending on students abilities, I will teach some vocabulary words associated with each letter - for example: А is for Арбуз, Б is for Банан... 
Materials and important notes:
We will be using Nearpod in the classroom. To enjoy this class fully, all learners are requested to have another device on hand. If it is a smartphone or tablet, they can download the free Nearpod app or use the website if their second device is a computer. The password to the presentation will be sent out as soon as the children enter the classroom.

Students will receive a worksheet for the in class activities before each live meeting. All materials will be posted to the classroom  24-48 hours in advance. Please come to class with the worksheet and a pen. 

Please note that instruction will be 70:30 Russian:English. No previous knowledge of Russian is required to enroll in this course. As usual, worksheets will be provided to reinforce learning and memory. The goal of this class is to learn Russian in a relaxed and fun environment.
