Class Experience

Let's get into the Holiday Spirit together! Please join me as we learn how to sign the words to one of the best Christmas songs of all time! 

This class is for anyone interested in learning American Sign Language, no experience necessary, but it would also be a great class for students who have ASL experience already. 

Lyrics are linked below, please print prior to class for your learner to follow along as we go. 

Class will begin in large group session with me demonstrating/teaching the proper signs for the song. After that we will engage in a guided practice activity using a powerpoint with the lyrics to follow along and practice together. Next, I will play the song and we will practice together, trying to keep up with the music. 

The goal is to practice as much as possible, and have fun while we do it! ASL is such a beautiful, rich language, I love teaching it to eager learners!

Learning Goals

Students will improve motor skills and learn a new language.

Hi! I love teaching topics that can help you be a better communicator and that help provide useful tools to add value to your life. My classes are dynamic and always full of fun and joy. 

I taught public high school for 7 years before having my first child (I have three now, and stay home with them.) I used to teach (and am TEA certified in) American Sign Language, Public Speaking, and Photojournalism. I absolutely loved my job, but I couldn't miss the opportunity to stay home with my kids. I miss my students and the fun dynamics that come with being a teacher, so I'm thrilled about this opportunity to combine the best of both worlds!
