Class Experience

In this one-time class students already familiar with the story of Ruby Bridges will learn to express their responses in opinion paragraphs. Students will also review the basics of writing; such as sentence structure and proper punctuation. Topics covered will be opinion paragraph writing, types. of sentences, relevant parts of speech, and punctuation. The students will first record and discuss what they already know Ruby Bridges. We will have a quick review of any facts that were not mentioned. The teacher will then use lecture and engaging slides to teach the students how to write opinion paragraphs and review sentence structure, parts of speech, and punctuation. There will be an appropriate balance of teacher-to-student and student-to-student interaction throughout the lesson. My teaching style is to combine student interests with necessary writing and reading comprehension skills. Students need to be familiar with the Ruby Bridges Story.

Learning should be an enjoyable experience for children that motivates them to learn more. In my spare time, I love to travel, bowl, and spend time with my family. I look forward to working with your child.
