Rubber eggs?! Yes, you read that correctly! In this multiday class learners will turn a real egg into a rubber egg while learning why it is important for our bones to have calcium. **This class meets for 2 live meetings but they do not meet back to back. Please plan accordingly.** Class meeting 1: Set up the experiment, make predictions, discuss what calcium is and why we think calcium is important for our bodies. Learners will leave their eggs in the vinegar for a total of 4 days. Class...
Learners will improve their knowledge of science and how to conduct experiments. They will gain an understanding of the importance of calcium to our bodies.
1 file available upon enrollmentRequired Supplies: 1 raw egg A clear container with a lid (Mason jars work best) (Lid is optional but it does help to contain spills) White distilled vinegar (Enough to completely cover the egg) Paper towel (This will be needed for the last meeting) Small flashlight (This will be needed for the last meeting) Recommended Supplies: Play clothes that can get dirty Easy to clean surface
