US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
This class is a 30-minute teacher-led round-robin storytelling experience. Each child, when called upon and while taking turns, will add to our emerging story. This class is for children ages 4 - 6 years old. * Each child will take turns while providing their creative input to the story when asked, and help in its creation until we reach the conclusion of our round-robin storytelling experience. * Each child will be asked several times to recall the details of our story throughout our time together, not only for comprehension but to sequence the events of our story as we elaborate more and more on our story. * The children can and will decide which direction to go in our story, whether or not to open items, character's names, types of animals, things our characters need to bring in our story, colors, etc. Week 1 - 6/2- The Haunted House Week 2 - 6/9 - The Cave Week 3 - 6/16 - The Magic Door Week 4 - 6/23 - The African Safari Week 5 - 6/30 - The South Pole Week 6 - 7/7 - The Pyramid Week 7 - 7/21 - The Animal Tea Party Week 8 - 8/4 - Under the Sea Week 9 - 8/11 - The Candy Making Factory Week 10 - 8/18- The Mouse Hole

Parental Guidance
This is a storytelling in the round where the children are asked questions and their answers are included in our stories. Occasionally children will come up with weapons when we are packing a backpack, going into a scary place etc. I will include things like knives and guns into our story but they will never lead to violence, gore or other developmentally inappropriate events. Children will also come up with silly names for people or pets, unless completely inappropriate they too will be used otherwise they will be discouraged and be asked to come up with a more appropriate answer.

I LOVE storytelling! I think it is a great way for children to express themselves, feel included in the telling of stories and help a child's self-esteem by contributing to a group.
