In this class, knitters will learn how to do more than make hats and scarves on a round knitting machine. Knitters will learn the basics of casting-on yarn to begin a project. They will learn how to make a tube and a flat panel and what projects are the best for each. Knitters will also learn how to cast-on and bind-off with scrap yarn. They will learn how to change yarn skeins of yarn or yarn colors in the middle of a project, Then we will learn how to cast-off. After the basics, knitters will learn how to make a hat, an infinity scarf, and a pair of slippers. Students will need a round knitting machine (Addi, Sentro, Loops and Thread, etc, there are a number of different types of knitting machines). Yarn in a size appropriate for the type of knitting machine they have, more than one color is fine. Plus scarp yarn in a different color than their project yarn. A yarn needle, a crochet hook, scissors, and a measuring tape.

All content is age-appropriate but parents are asked to be nearby to help younger knitters when needed.
