US Grade 2 - 3
**Please Note: This is a self-paced course, allowing your learner to watch the videos, practice the skills, and play the games when it is convenient for you. There are no live meetings for this course, but I will be available with tips, tricks, and advice to help your learner succeed.** Research has found that a 5th grade student's understanding of word parts, or knowledge of morphology, is a better indicator of reading comprehension than his or her vocabulary level (Kieffer et al., 2007). Help your learner get a jump on these skills with this fun class! Get ready for an awesome ride in our dynamic class! We're diving deep into the world of words, exploring prefixes, and suffixes like word detectives. Each session is like uncovering linguistic treasures, understanding how words come together. But that's not all – we're not just unraveling the word mysteries. We're also taking a peek into the grammar universe, checking out the parts of speech that go hand-in-hand with our cool new vocabulary. Plus, we'll crack the code on spelling rules, giving you the lowdown on language mechanics. And here's the fun part: hands-on activities! Get ready to play with words, writing them down and practicing those spelling rules you just picked up. Come join us for an interactive and educational journey. It's not just about boosting your vocabulary; it's about building a rock-solid foundation in the language game! 🚀✨ Weekly class videos will include: 1. A super important question 2. Introduction to prefix/suffix of the week 3. Instructions for a game learners can play 4. Spelling practice applying the three suffixing rules (when relevant) 5. A worksheet will accompany the video each week that will give additional practice. Learners can complete it for practice or "submit" it for feedback.
