Please join me in this spooky one-time interactive class! We will start the class by reading a popular Halloween story, "Room on the Broom" by Julia Donaldson. Learners will be encouraged to read the repetitive words and phrases during the story. After the story, students will practice their sequencing skills by retelling the story as a class. We will also discuss the characters, their character traits, and the setting of the story. Next, students will complete their own book that goes...
Students will retell stories, including key details, and demonstrate their understanding of the central message or lesson. Students will describe characters, settings, and major events using key details. Students will sequence the events of the story. Students will review the parts of a book, i.e. front cover, back cover, spine, title page. Students will practice pre-reading skills such as reading from left to right and top to bottom. Students will understand words represent a spoken word and convey a message. Students will answer simple questions about the story.
