In this one-time class, we will read the popular Halloween story, Room on the Broom. After the story, we will create our own books that will help students sequence and reread a shortened version of the story.

Class experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Students will retell stories, including key details, and demonstrate their understanding of the central message or lesson.
Students will describe characters, settings, and major events using key details.
Students will sequence the events of the story.
Students will review the parts of a book, i.e. front cover, back cover, spine, title page.
Students will practice pre-reading skills such as reading from left to right and top to bottom.
Students will understand words represent a spoken word and convey a message.
Students will answer simple questions about the story.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
