NOTE: If your learner is interested in this class but there are currently no times scheduled that work for them, PLEASE reach out to me - I would be very happy to arrange a time that will work better for their schedule! This ongoing class is a fun, creative dice-rolling activity for learners to make their own pieces of art while also learning about art history! * Each class will start with a short art history lesson relating to the week's topic. * Miss Jennie will share examples to inspire...
This class is a fun way for students to learn about art history while also learning how to create their own art.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts, as well as an Associates degree in Digital Photography & a Certificate in Digital Design. My professional career has been in the graphic design & photography fields. My personal life includes many creative hobbies & pursuits, including drawing, painting, jewelry making, cross stitch, crochet & book making.
* One 6-sided die (can be borrowed from Yahtzee or any other game involving dice you might have around) * A prepared canvas or thick drawing paper or board (12"x12" or 9"x12" are good sizes, but use whatever size you prefer; you want something that marker or paint will not bleed through) * Black Sharpie or paint marker * Paint in a variety of colors - make sure to have your favorites! * You will need paint brushes, rinsing cup, palette/paper plate, & rag/paper towels * Clothes that can get messy or an apron/large shirt to protect clothing from any art supplies used
Each lesson starts with a brief overview of that week's highlighted artist, compiled from information & images found on https://www.britannica.com, https://www.moma.org (The Museum of Modern Art) & other official art history sources.
I am an artist, crafter, geek & dreamer. I have been creating for my entire life & don't feel complete without it! I believe that you don't have to be an "artist" to enjoy creativity in your life, & my dream is to spread this joy to everyone...
