Class Experience

Students will learn how to make decisions in the role of their character.
Students will learn elements of Ancient Japan's history including the feudal system, values and daily life.
Students will explore numeracy by rolling dice, calculating chance, calculating scores and deducting hitpoints.
I am a trained Japanese teacher and spent 6 months living in a traditional Japanese house in rural Fukuchiyama. I have visited Eiga Mura, the samurai village, where I was chosen to join in a samurai stage show. I have also visited a Ninja House and learned about the trap doors and secret codes used by ninjas in ancient times. As well as my cultural knowledge, I love drama and have enjoyed leading roleplaying games with teenagers in the past.
A Google Form link will be provided in the first session to help create players' characters.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
6 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Players will role-play fighting using hypothetical weapons in order to kill enemies and may experience "injuries" to their own characters. This is generally not too gruesome.
