Description
Class Experience
We will look over my shoulder as I show you all the secrets to learning our first song together. This class is right for the beginner who has never played piano before and piano students with beginner musical knowledge. 30 mins This class will feature a current artist most kids have heard of somewhere in pop culture (Disney movies, well-known tv commercials, popular video games, anything really). 2 mins: Introductions and guidelines. Students will be able to identify every letter name on the keyboard. They will also know how to play all major chords and have a great understanding of playing our first song.
Students are encouraged to practice on their own time. The optimal schedule is a daily practice, even as little as 20 mins.
A full-size hammer-weighted piano is best (88 keys). However, don't fret if you do not have one. We can still learn the piano on a keyboard with fewer keys (76, 61,49, etc.). If you are really in a pinch and really want to attend the class, you could even get by with an iPad using a piano app.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
