If you're a drummer looking to play with other rockstars, this class is for you! This course will focus on instruments you can scrape, strike, and shake! Each class will include: An introduction of rhythm patterns, rhythm review/practice, and playing along with different rhythms to our favorite songs! Students will learn to play basic rhythms, and apply knowledge about percussion instruments to their playing.
Access to any of three household items: a shaker (pasta box, toilet paper tube with beans, bag of rice), a strike (wooden spoons, two pencils, two markers, an empty box, a pan), and a scrape (an empty box and fingernails, a wooden spoon and pillow). Any paper materials or online materials will be provided if necessary.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents may be needed to locate household items in your house.
We will listen to popular music and participate via google slides that I have created for the class.
