In this one time class we will be delving into the world of Minecraft and all the real geology that makes up its caves and cliffs. We will discuss geologic concepts in Minecraft such as: bedrock, the various types of rocks in the game (Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic), what lava is and how it forms rocks like obsidian, as well as looking at what metal ores are, the formation of coal, and the types of minerals found in Minecraft. - Students will learn about the geology present in Minecraft, including different rock types, coal, minerals and metal ores.
I have both a Bachelor's of science and Master's degree in Earth Science, and have previously worked at a UNESCO fossil world heritage site.
