Description

Class Experience

In a one to one setting, I will guide your student through reading strategies that will improve their decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. I will present downloads for use in real time tutoring as well as practice for homework, allowing your child to have individualized materials and attention.  I will begin by assessing your child's skills in phonemic awareness through sound placement within words and rhyming skills.  We will practice areas of weakness in phonics and learn rules...

Students will improve their reading skills in the areas of decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension using individualized materials.

As a special educator for 26 years and raising two children with dyslexia, as well as tutoring and teaching hundreds of students with dyslexia, I am uniquely qualified to assess your child's strengths and help them build on those strengths until reading becomes FUN!

I will assign homework for practice as appropriate.  I love to see my students read at least 30 minutes every night.  I have access to many free sites that will allow your child to read, read, read, and love it!

A pre and post assessment will be given to demonstrate progress.

2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
