This lively and fun one-time music class will having students moving and grooving to music while using plastic cups as a musical instrument. We will learn about beat, rhythm and musical form while we laugh and interact and share some of our favorite kinds of holiday music with each other. Then we will choreograph a lively piece from the Nutcracker with a cup rhythm that can be easily learned, played and enjoyed long after the class is over. This has been one of my most requested activities from my current music and piano students but no previous musical experience is needed!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of beat and rhythm, learn about Time Signatures and Musical Form, challenge their memory and have fun!
