Description
Class Experience
Students will learn new drawing and painting tips to paint 1-3 unicorn rocks.
Mrs. Borton is a rock-painting fanatic! She is part of an active "Rock Group" in her town, where she has not only painted, hidden, and searched for rocks, but has also organized rock hunts for children. Last year, she painted and hid close to 1,000 rocks in her community.
1. ROCKS - Students will need clean and dry rocks. River rocks can be purchased at any garden center or at stores like Menards or Lowe's. Rocks should be 1"-3" in size. If rock is purchased at a craft store, it is probably waxed and will need to be boiled to remove the wax. 2. ACRYLIC PAINTS - a variety of colors will be used. Choose paints that will be the body color of the unicorn and its flowing mane. 3. PAINT BRUSHES - a few small brushes 4. PAPER and PENCIL 5. PAINT PALETTE or waxed paper 6. Other basic painting supplies such as a cup for water, a table covering, and paper towels
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
