Students will learn songs they like and want to learn to play. They will build their knowledge of guitar chords and all the different forms. 
We will do some music theory as it applies to things we are working on. 
Students will become proficient in reading chord diagrams and guitar tablature. 
Once the student has a good handle on the guitar tablature, they will be introduced to standard musical notation. 

I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher.  I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. 
I was head of the music department at a private high  school in Maryland. 
I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio. 
I have a bachelor's degree in music education, from Towson University, plus graduate studies in music education. 

Homework Offered
I recommend 20- 40 minutes of practice , about 3 to 5 times per week, if possible. 
2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessment . Good communication between student and teacher , as to how the student is progressing
