Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
Join the world of Roblox, where every gaming session is a chance for your gamer to step out of their comfort zone and try something new alongside new friends. Whether your gamer is a seasoned player or a beginner, our club is all about growing together, supporting each other, and learning through our gaming adventures.

Here, it's not just about winning - it's about team play, handling setbacks with grace, and cheering each other on. We believe that making mistakes is part of the learning process, and we encourage everyone to participate, but we'll never force anyone to a play a game they're not comfortable with. Small class size of only 6 learners per section, maximum allows everyone to speak and be heard.

In our social gaming club, we focus on developing not only your child's gaming strategies but their social-emotional skills through regular check-ins. This way, we understand our feelings, learn from our actions, and continuously grow - not just as gamers, but as individuals and teammates.

Ready for your child to learn, game and grow? Join us and let the games begin!

Games will be chosen each week by learners in class. If one game isn't agreed upon, we will use a break out room and learners can choose which game they would like to play. Players may leave and join the other game at any time. This allows conversation about each game without worrying about interrupting those playing the other game. I monitor both rooms.

Games we can play include:
Toilet Tower Defense
Circus Tower Defense
Amazing Digital Circus
Find the Markers and other Find the... games
Guess the Drawing
Heads Up
Never Have I Ever
Arm Wrestle Simulator
Create A Car Ride
Build-A-Bear
Squishmallows
My Hello Kitty Cafe
Adopt Me
Be A Spider, Restaurant, or Theme Park Tycoon (open to other tycoon games)
Teamwork Puzzles 2 (obby)
Team Daycare Escape! (Teamwork Obby)
LOCOfficial (similar to uno)
other obby/maze games, especially cooperative/teamwork style games

I am open to game suggestions but will need to look at them to be sure they are appropriate for ALL AGES. The games also need to offer the ability for private servers, which I will set up (it's ok if it costs robux, although most private servers are free).
***Please message me at least ONE day before class or if you tell me during class, give me until the following week's class to offer the new game. Thanks and I look forward to adding to our list of games!
Learning Goals
Learners will engage in activities designed to contribute to the development of their emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationships, and communication proficiency.
Learners will advance their computer literacy and technical capabilities through interactive gameplay, preparing them for a technologically driven future.

Parental Guidance
Common Sense Media rates Roblox age 13. This is due to the unmoderated nature of the games as well as the chat feature. All listed games are free games on the Roblox platform and are listed as appropriate for all ages. I provide a private server so your child will only be playing with other Outschool learners with me as a coach to assist with kind, inclusive and respectful gaming. Learners need a Roblox account, and the Roblox App. Guardians must provide permission for their enrolled student to share their Roblox player information with me. Please message me your learner's Roblox username so that I can send them a friend request, before class. We will need to be friends for the duration of this Gaming Club Experience. We may use break out rooms on Zoom, so that learners may choose which game they would prefer to play. This allows learners to speak about their game without worrying about speaking over those playing a different game. I monitor both rooms. Students may also leave and join the other game at any time.
Supply List
For the best experience, it is recommended that two devices be used for this class. One device for the Outschool Zoom meeting and a second device for Roblox. However, it is possible to use tabs if a second device is not available. Gamers will need a Roblox account and the Roblox app set up before class.

I am the parent of a gamer and am also part of several Facebook and Discord groups for Adult Gamers. I will be playing many of these Roblox games for the first time, so I will be learning right along with your gamers. I'm looking forward to playing games both new and old.
